NOTE: NiMH batteries have a six-month shelf-life if not charged. We recommend installing this battery immediately upon receipt to ensure the battery provides the full 3-hour runtime. It requires periodic exercise to maintain its health. Exercise the battery at least once every four months. Exercise means going through a complete charge and discharge cycle of your music stand light. In other words, leave the light on to discharge the battery some and recharge it (normal use on battery). Conversely, a lack of exercise (such as leaving the light in a closet for eight months or keeping it plugged in for eight months) will affect the NiMH battery’s runtime.
